File Under: Things You Never Thought You’d See

Via Andrew Sullivan, the following is a great little video showing how very far we’ve come.  It’s the Alpha Delta Phi frat house at the University of Chicago; the brothers are “welcoming” the hatemongering Westboro Baptist Church to town. In case you can’t read the sign, it says “No Tolerance for Intolerance.”

Okay, I’ll admit, I was a lot more inclined to post this video because my dad is an Alpha Delta Phi alum.  I suppose Dave is too, but Dartmouth’s AD is a whole different ball game.  Trinity also has an AD chapter that’s been through a lot, and been in the news quite a bit, over the past five or six years.

I think this is a good example of how identifications and people change.  It reinforces to me how stupid the whole war on Greek culture is on college campuses.  Every Greek organization, just like any other organization, has the potential to evolve and do some things that are good and bad.

Here’s to a bunch of college guys bucking the age-old brush they’ve been painted with and endorsing diversity.
